How to Get Ethereum to Play MLB Champions™
MLB Champions™ is finally here! We wanted to make sure you guys know how to get Ethereum in order to participate in today’s sale. This blog is an in-depth “How to” of the 4 steps you need to follow in order to get your MLB Champions™ Figures.
In order to start playing you’ll need:
- A computer with the desktop version of Chrome or Firefox
- Coinbase account or an account with a trusted cryptocurrency exchange
- MetaMask plugin
- Digital Ethereum wallet
- Baseball spirit!
Step 1:
The first thing you need to do is set up your Coinbase account to be able to purchase Ethereum. Visit www.coinbase.com to start.
Once you’ve created your account, you’ll be directed to your new set of wallets. To play MLB Champions™, you’ll need to purchase Ethereum.
When hitting the “Buy” button under the “Ethereum” tab, Coinbase will ask you to link your credit/debit card or your bank account to begin the process.
Note: Bank transfers tend to take 3–5 days for the transaction to process. We suggest to use a debit/credit card if you’re in a rush to get Ethereum quickly.
After you link your payment source to Coinbase, choose the amount of Ethereum you are looking to buy, review the amount and fees, then click, “buy.”
You will see a message from Coinbase that your payment was successful. Depending on your payment method, Coinbase will let you know how long it will take for your Ethereum to show in your unique wallet.
Once you can see your desired amount in your wallet, you are ready to move on to the next step.
Step 2:
The next step is to download Metamask.io to your website browser.
What is MetaMask?
MetaMask is a digital wallet that stores your Ethereum (ETH), a digital currency used in most blockchain games. Every game on the Ethereum blockchain requires MetaMask to play.
Metamask can be installed in Google Chrome, Opera, Brave, or Firefox just like most plugins. You will be asked to accept the terms and conditions and install. Look out for the orange fox logo on your browser tab.
After you’ve successfully created your metamask account, you will need to identify your wallet address for Step 3.
Step 3:
Now that your Metamask is installed and you have Ethereum ready in your Coinbase wallet, it’s time for you to transfer to Metamask.
Go back to your Coinbase Ethereum wallet, where you should see your available balance. There, choose the option to “send” your Ethereum to an address. Choose the amount and copy and paste your MetaMask wallet address in the designated box. Coinbase will ask you to review your transaction before confirming.
Note:
Make sure to double check your address, always! Transactions on the blockchain are irreversible!
Once you’ve confirmed the correct address, send away! You will get an EtherScan link that confirms your transaction.
Once your transaction has smoothly hit the blockchain, you’re ready for the last step!
Step 4:
FINALLY! YOU’VE MADE IT! Check your MetaMask wallet by clicking on the icon in your browser. You should see your balance you’ve sent from your Coinbase wallet in your MetaMask wallet. Now you’re ready to go!
Visit MLBC.app and hit our Marketplace tab, you should see the prices of each figurine. Once you find the MLB Champions™ Figurine or team you are interested in, go ahead and click on its price. You will receive a pop-up from MetaMask that offers options to “confirm” or “reject” the purchase.
After confirming, the MetaMask pop-up will close and will give you the option to view this transaction on the Etherscan.
Note: If your transaction is taking too long, you will need to increase your gas (GWEI) in Metamask.
And there you have it! That’s a four-base HOME-RUN! Visit the Player’s tab on MLBC.app to see you list of figurines or teams you’ve purchased. Congrats! You’re a Crypto pro!
